Full service
A full service is recommended every 10,000 miles. Here at LT Garage we will carry out general checks such as the exterior lights, horn and windscreen wipers as well as the essential maintenance of the engine and drivetrain. We will replace the engine oil and oil filter, along with other essential engine filters when necessary. We will ensure all of the drive belts and hoses are inspected to ensure there are no underlying issues. We inspect the shock absorbers, road springs and all other suspension components. We ensure all the vehicle fluids are topped up and check for any leaks. As well as checking the brake fluid our mechanics will also check the entire braking system. We will evaluate the condition of the brake pads and discs. If they are worn, now would be the most cost effective time to replace them. We will check all of your vehicles tyres and tyre pressures, tread depths and condition. Finally we will reset all service reminders, service warning indicators and keep your service booklet up to date.

Interim service
Generally, an interim service is a less comprehensive service than a full service however it is recommended to be carried out annually dependent on the mileage, usage and recommendations of the previous service. Your vehicle will still be comprehensively inspected but usually replacements will be the engine oil and oil filter and any other filters not fitted from a previous service. If our mechanics notice any worn or imminent defects we will notify you that we’ve found an additional requirement for the vehicles maintenance and service check and ask if you’d like to be rescheduled in. Finally we will reset all service reminders, service warning indicators and keep your service booklet up to date.

Timing belt replacement
A timing belt (cam belt) controls the timing of your vehicle’s internal combustion engines. It allows the crankshaft to rotate simultaneously with the camshaft and any other auxiliary items keeping the timing and sequence of when the valves to the cylinders open and close to be correct. There’s no set rules for when to replace your cam belt, it is recommended by the manufacturer of your vehicle and depends on the age and mileage of your vehicle. If you are unsure, please give us a call and we can advise you. We recommend replacing the water pump at the same time as the timing belt along with any tensioners and or guide pullies.
